Health Insurance Plans We Accept For Acupuncture

Dr. Heather Thompson is an in-network provider for Aetna, Carefirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Medstar Health, and United Healthcare for acupuncture treatment.

Each individual policy for each insurance company is different and it is encouraged that you first check to see if acupuncture is a covered benefit under your insurance policy. We also verify your acupuncture benefits as a courtesy when you schedule you first intake appointment so that both you and the provider are aware of your coverage.

For patients who do not have health insurance benefits which cover acupuncture and are paying out of pocket for treatment, the out of pocket rates for acupuncture are as follows:

90 Minute Initial Acupuncture Consult and Treatment: $190

​

60 Minute Follow-Up Acupuncture Treatment: $100
